New OB-GYN nurse practitioner focuses on patient education to improve lives

For Taria Battle, C.R.N.P., pursuing a nursing career in women’s health was an easy decision.

“The joy of providing care and educating women about their health guided me to this career,” Battle said. “I plan to make education the foundation of my patient interactions. It’s important that my patients have the knowledge to make informed decisions regarding their physical and mental wellness.”

Battle grew up in Mobile and is the first person in her family to pursue a career in healthcare. She knew she wanted to be a nurse and enrolled at the University of South Alabama College of Nursing.

The school’s exceptional reputation is the reason she chose to attend.

“The faculty and staff at the College of Nursing shapes our future nurses to excel in their careers,” she said. “I am grateful that I received an education at USA, and I’m able to use my knowledge to help patients live healthier lives,” she said.

After graduation, Battle held several positions at USA Health including working in wound care at University Hospital and in the labor and delivery unit at Children’s & Women’s Hospital.
